When Colleen Palmateer found peace through yoga, she decided to share her passion with others. That’s how New Spirit was born, and it offers a tranquil setting. Colleen began teaching in 2008 and emphasizes proper alignment, breath awareness, and learning to relax. She provides fun classes, and students leave feeling better than when they arrived. Options include Gentle, Extra Gentle, and Yoga 1. New Spirit Yoga is a 16-minute drive away.
BYC Yoga 26
BYC boasts that it’s “locally owned, organically grown.” It’s the area’s only studio to offer the original Hot 26 + 2 series, known for its therapeutic benefits. The instructors guide everyone into the correct form and build personal relationships with their students. All of the classes welcome beginners, including Flow26. Held in a studio heated to 105 degrees, it features a series of 26 poses with most flowing from one to the other without pause. This session is both aerobic and meditative. BYC Yoga is an 18-minute drive away.
Rolling Brook Yoga
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned yogi, Rolling Brook Yoga, located a 20-minute drive away, offers a session for you. It features a warm, friendly setting, and students enjoy step-by-step instruction in a small class setting. Owner Lynne Olsen turned to yoga while working as a crime scene technician. She became a certified instructor in 2013 and offers classes that are both challenging and nourishing to the soul. Choices include Yoga Basics, Gentle Yoga, and Beyond Basics.
