One of Maryland’s most charming neighborhoods, Little Italy in Baltimore invites everyone to come and explore its narrow streets. Along the way, you will find popular restaurants, bocce ball matches, and maybe even an outdoor movie or a fun festival. Here is some of what Little Italy has to offer near our Arundel Hills apartments:
Family-owned, Amicci’s is where you will find the best happy hour in Little Italy. The restaurant also serves simple, flavorful fare at reasonable prices. Guests always enjoy fast, friendly service, and you can dine in the cozy dining room or enjoy a nice day on the patio. Dinner offerings include house gnocchi, chicken marsala, and tortellini with ham and peas. Round out your meal with a glass of Pinot Grigio and the house-made bread pudding.
Vaccaro’s Italian Pastry
A Baltimore fixture since 1956, Vaccaro’s features some of the best desserts around. Founder Gioacchino Vaccaro grew up in Italy. He later came to Maryland and opened Vaccaro’s Italian Pastry using his Old World recipes. Today, his son Nick carries on his tradition. The bakers create from scratch and only use the finest, freshest ingredients. Offerings include cannoli, tiramisu, and rum cakes.
Bocce Ball Courts
The bocce ball courts always draw a crowd during the warmer months. They’re most active between May and September on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings when leagues compete against each other. Bocce ball is a fun Italian backyard sport, and all ages and athletic abilities can join in the fun. The rules may seem complex, but it’s easier and more fun than you think!
