Less than fifteen miles from our apartments in Anne Arundel County is a nationally recognized creative hub.

We’re talking about the Station North Arts and Entertainment District which is home to galleries, enticing restaurants, unique theaters, and much more.

Highlights include:

Daniel Herman Stained Glass Studio

For over 36 years, Daniel Herman has designed and fabricated stained and etched glass for both private and public settings. He composes his works using rich materials including mouth-blown antique glass and machine-rolled commercial textures. Daniel creates stained glass windows along with sculptures that make for the perfect addition to any home.

The Charles Theatre

The Charles Theatre shows Hollywood blockbusters, cinema classics, and first-run specialty films. It’s the only theater of its type in Baltimore and is found inside one of the most intriguing historic buildings on Charles Street. Constructed in 1892, the building was originally designed as a cable car barn. It went on to house buses and a library for the blind before becoming the site of the theater in 1939. General admission is twelve dollars, and the main auditorium hosts special screenings and a revival series several times a week.

Pen & Quill

Pen & Quill calls one of Baltimore’s most famous buildings home. It focuses on innovative New American cuisine and has been one of the city’s top restaurants since opening in 2014. The atmosphere is warm and comes complete with dim lighting, dark wood accents, and a circular bar. Food offerings include smoked beet Reuben sandwiches, seafood gumbo, and roasted chicken. All pair well with a pint of Local Oyster Stout or Raised by Wolves.
